Did the BFG Weekend and broke the truck on the first night playing on the rock pile. My impatience struck again :banghead:

Broke the Locker Center Pin:

Drove it anyway the next two days, doing the Quinn the first day and Crag Lake the second. Would not have done as much damage to the gears and carrier if I just parked the truck but who cares, had more fun driving:

Hey Adrian
I was just thinking as I had to buy lockrights as Aussie didn't have one for my 8.25 that they STRONGLY suggested that the stock pins be replaced with 'hardened' pins. Talked to Dirk he doesn't think that Aussie recommended that but it might be a thought and maybe you already thought of it.

It would probly not hurt :) But with the amount of loading up I put on the front axle when my tire was wedged in that hole, I am actually surpised this is all I broke.. The Locker itself seems fine still, a new center pin and I should be good to go, other than needing a new pinion from drving with a center pin floating around :lmao:

brutal.
was that an Aussie? or a Lockright?

An Aussie, but kind of irrelevant as both lockers retain the same center pin...

The next step would be a Detroit, then a step after that would be ARB or E-Locker.

what will be the matching tranny/case combo for this beast?

Going TH350 and sticking with the toy cases. Probably with Reverse Manual Valve body and stock torque converter for now.
