Haha, definitely not. It's one of those things though... you can drain the transmission / tcase when you get into deep water, but you can't do anything for the bellhousing. They shoulda put a drain on it!

There's a new product idea, garden hose connection and drain to rinse out your bellhousing, just like a lawnmower :lmao:

I have about 6 hours into drilling out a stud in the transmission (where the starter bolts to it). My hole is getting nasty as I keep breaking bits off. Worst. Drill. Out. Experience. Ever.

Sad times. Sucks to be getting hung up on bullshit. I did install the upper control arms from my RE kit on the front and I installed the front passenger seat! Progress, I guess. Picked up the Napa clutch kit (thanks Keith!)... wishing a little bit that I had ordered the Luk kit. In the Napa kit the shaft on the throwout bearing is plastic. Even the OEM is metal!

Made some good progress on the weekend.

Moved the gas tank over to the new Jeep.
Wired the TJ gauge cluster back in.
Andrew came over with some nifty tools to help center up my botched up drilling attempts for the broken bolt on the transmission.

Installed the new clutch.

Drained the tranny and tcase. I take care of my shit, I swear!

Installed the engine!

Next up:
Sort out the rest of the wiring changes.
Install clutch/brake/gas pedal.
Weld on steering bracket.
Install fenders.

Getting close. And as always, I can't get shit done without help. Mucho thanks to Andrew.

I made the mistake of just doing it once. Doh

I did not intend to imply I was only doing it the once.
I drained it, flushed it once. Its been sitting for three years, I will run it and get everything moving and drain again. On the second flush once it runs clear it will be fine.

Well, I stalled out a little bit on this project, but it is getting very close. Andrew was over last Sunday and we got some more broken bolts drilled and tapped. Also cut off the steering bracket from my frame and welded it onto the new TJ. I had to give Mitko the original steering box to get the pitman arm off... try as I might, I couldn't get it to budge. So the steering is all buttoned up now.

Remaining:
Tap the grill for 3/8" bolts to replace the broken ones.
Install fenders.
Re-connect wiring.
Connect gas tank.
Install drive shafts.
Sort out brake wiring.
Install peddles.
Install driver seat.
Install soft top.
...
And that should be about it to make it a driver. I'm hoping to make a final push this weekend, wish me luck.

lookin like a TJ again!

Yep, it's close! Sadly, I seem to add just as many things to the list as I remove lol.

Todays progress: all engine bay wiring hooked up and sorted out, all hack job interior wiring for the driving lights and stereo removed / redone, master and slave installed, clutch and brake pedals, oil change, fuel lines hooked up, gas tank hooked up, gauge cluster installed. We were going to start it today but the battery is now 100% dead instead of 99%. Will try tomorrow with a new battery :)

Remaining:
Torque pitman arm and tre.
Install drive shafts.
Install gas peddle.
Install driver seat.
Install soft top.
Install head lights / HID's.
Install front bumper.
Sort out rear tail light wiring / trailer wiring harness.

New battery + appropriately placed ground connections (thanks Chris!) = running Jeep.
