Wheels a churnin

Cochise, your XJ is self destructing and clearly wants an overhaul into a tube buggy.

I've pushed it as far as it will go in the state it's currently in. Time to do what everyone else has done before me, and start reinforcing things. Yes, I know I'm polishing a turd. It's a Jeep! :flipoff:

Good luck to everyone competing this weekend.

I believe Dwayne is talking (or will be) to Brad and is trying to get 3 classes, 31 to 35, 36 to 40 and 42 to 54" but that means coming up with another purse for the top 3 but that is also something Dwayne is talking to Nat4wd about. This might be an opportunity for the club to get involved and put our name on it too. I definately think that it needs to be split up this way for next year at any rate even if it doesn't change for this weekend. I know what you mean though, i didn't feel all warm and fuzzy running against a rig on 54" tires - he did have a bit of an advantage!

I do know that from talking to Nat4wd at the last event it will be attendance that dictates a better class split - the more rigs competing the more likely hood of the changes.

Personally, I think it should be Stock to 33" - 35" to 38" and 39" and up. No reason a person with 40's should be running in the middle class - Ultra 4 buggies run 40's FFS :)

i would go with that, as long as the create that other class to make it a bit more competitive for everyone. Really looking forward to this weekend - can't wait to crack into that bottle of The Kracken rum!

You competed against me last time and thrashed me. :flipoff: Apparently you have no class....... wait for it........but we already knew that. We'll have the class up to 35" ;)

I was going with those sizes because otherwise I don't think there are enough trucks in that mid size tire to make a proper size group. Besides 35 to 40 is the same as 42 to 47 in size difference and that there might be 54's there, well...... oh well get 'em boys.

The only thing that is going to make 3 classes for both days happen is the $700 needed for the class for both days (1st-$200 2nd -$100 3rd - $50 x 2 days) as talking to National they won't run 3 classes one day and 2 the next. Though if last time is an indication then there might not be enough people for 3 classes on the second day.

Valley Bytes (I.E. me) will sponsor $300 if the club will sponsor the other $400.

Okay members if you think this is a good idea as it seems a fair amount of members are going please stand up and say yeah or nay

Maybe this will get all the others who just hang out in the forum to come and join OVO finally :p.
And I will sell shirts there Tim to bring in some revenue.
Oh yeah somebody remind me to bring the shirts.

I think the $400 is worth the investment so we can run the class. It won't be something we do every wheels of churning event for following years though.
National has sponsored us enough through out the sf events and I think we can afford to return the favor.
The club can afford it. Expecially since dwayne/valley bites is willing to put up $300 amd will likely see less of a return as us.
We have at least 10 members that are going to show up as well. So the club is definitely interested in the event.
I vote yes to sponsoring the event.

[Humourous hijack]

I forgot to mention this, but I'm pretty sure all my recent problems stem from us slamming our XJs on that left most side climb on the Gorge, and not anything on the Quinn.

I only found out about the windshield not being attached to the roof when I got back from the Quinn run: I stopped for gas to top up, and the clerk offered a free car wash (they just put in a new system he said).

I said sure! Truck was dirty from the run, how fortuitous my luck today!

So here I sit in this awesome new fangled car wash, and this is what I see between me and the dash (less than two feet between us):

My vote is yes to the sponsor money. If the Exec's say we have the cash then lets invest a little and see what happens.

Any predictions on how long the Sami axles will last if I run 36's.......;)

Fixing a leaking 34 and needed to move the sami. They are the tires for the next truck. The frame and axles will be moving into the garage on thanksgiving weekend.

I say the club should donate the money, it'll provide some visibility to the club and the fact that there are organized clubs out there.

We used to have a sandwich OVO sign, if someone can get a hold of it it could be displayed somewhere.

Wish I could go, but this month is too busy :(

Yes that sandwich sign would be great if somebody knows where it is. Also does the club have a pop up shelter? Something I could put at the event to put shirts and a place to stand out of the sun and rain?
