only rotten at the tail end? Good for you man, easy fix.
Mine had been fixed in the same area well before I got it. But as farmBoy said usually they go under the cab between the front and rear springs.
As far as alot of work to plate it all goes.......have you seen my pics? 2 solid weekends and nights of welding, and thats with the everything stripped, only the bare frame to work on.
How soon 'till you're ready to drive it? Any guesses?
I can drive it now.
not safety.
i'm going to pull the body off the frame, then coat it all with POR-15.
I don't want it to go any further.
While i have the body off, I'll weld it up too.
then strip it and paint it a bright "burn your retinas out" yellow.:flipoff::beer:
guys.
i'm sad.
I haven't had time to work on my project and fall is fast approaching. No way I can do it alone.
looks like I'll have to find a different truck for winter driving.

Can't do it alone? No one can.
What do you need help with? How much is left?
If you need a break frm it, take a few weeks. Projects can really wear you down. But all that work will have been for nothing if you get rid of it.
Drive the Taco and keep wrenching on the Runner. Its more fun when the pressure is off anyway.
i hear that.
now that I have the Taco, the wife is all over me to get rid of one truck.
maybe I'll put the body of the truck up on sawhorses and work on that in the garage over the winter.
I still ahve to get the body off and patch and clean my frame. then patch the body and paint it.
fix up axles. add the highsteer and IFS steering box. tons...
since no-one wanted to buy the truck I will probably start this project up again this spring.
I have been driving my 95 truck with the same 2.4l 22re. I hate the power on the road. I'm also thinking i'd rather have an automatic.
So what engine to use???
Something that happened recently is that Toyota recalled Tacomas because of the frame corrosion. So there are a lot of Taco drive trains in the yards.
I found a 3.4L with tranny and all sensors rather cheap. reviews of this engine are good. I might just grab this and do the swap since I'll have the body off anyway. should be easy.
So, I'll take you guys up on the offer to help lift off the body.
I'll wheel the frame into the garage and work on it.
