Looking good Merek. What does that console weigh?

I thought that when I saw it in the garage the other night, so I picked it up, without the tin on it probably not much more than 10lbs. It is very nice and very intricate, and for some reason Marek tells me his tired of welding little things together. :lmao:

it looks heavier than it is - the square tubing is basically formed sheetmetal, when i started welding it I didn't think of it as sheet - i learned the hard way a few times before i turned down the heat. but even with all the sheet metal welded on it's stil not that heavy.

So this morning I mocked up the 3 link and cycled the suspension to check for clearances - i was happy with every thing. the pics don't really show much, i took a few but they're not good enough to post. Anyway, here's the pas side at full bump (pics i took of the arms claring the pan and tranny didn't turn out)

no clearance issues with the tranny

I also did alittle more work on the floor/console - just some sheetmetal and seam sealer, looks messy but after some primer and then bed liner to smooth it all out it should look decent.

Did you run the numbers on the front? I am curious how the upper being longer than the lowers would affect it. Did you cycle the axle up and down and watch the pinion angle?

with the axle totally dropped out i wasn't happy with the pinion angle (was rotated abit too far up) so i made adjustments from the original numbers. lowers are 34.75" and the upper is 39"

hehehe, not anytime soon - i'll most likely upgrade the rear to 35 spline next year :D

That's too bad I was going to start cashing in my bottles to create a "Marek's For Sale Axle Fund".

Have you found a Comanche yet? That's the part I'm waiting to see!!!

Ha! well i'm not moved into my new house (moving in the new year) yet so i don't have the space to park another vehicle and i've searched for just the lift gates with so far no success but i'm open to finding a CJ lift gate, cutting out "jeep" and building my own - no worries, this is something i will be doing... eventually.

You sold your house? Where are you planning on buying?

What about cutting your door and molding the Jeep into the license plate area?

This is what I did... I wanted the "Jeep" in mine. Not done yet yet though.

I got the floor done - it's ugly but tomorrow i'll start slappin on the bed liner which will blend it in. I'll also be getting the shifters sorted out (dust boot on) and setting up the aluminum for the other shifter and switches. The "inspection doors" will be aluminum too.
