I figured it couldn't have been true... But I guess with no update pictures it must be.
Sorry to hear that you are parting it out. I've heard that LAD's gives good rates on scrap metal.
Let me know when the axles are available :flipoff:

George you poodle walking gas sniffer! :flipoff:
She's sitting in her new home (my new garage) until march when i get home from N Carolina. My garage is all set up and when i get back home i'll be hard at it again. I picked up a replica 6 shooter drum shifter for the tranny shifter down here at a local truck store (alittle cheesy but i saw it and had to have it) I can't believe how cheap truck stuff (everything for that matter) is down here - i love America.

So messed around in the garage yesterday, i've started putting thought to how i'm going to run the exhaust. I also bought a bunch of 2.5" exhaust tubing (assorted bends and straight pieces). At this point i plan to run the exhaust down the passanger side (stock style) and put the cat where the muffler used to be and put the muffler where the stock fuel tank used to be. I'm sure my plans will change as i get into this.
Basically i changed my plugs, wired in my relocated CB and gutted all the glass and such out of the rear doors. I thought about pulling the rears off but i like having the sheetmetal there. My garage will be getting wired for 220 this week so until that happens i can't really go too much further - like burn in the brackets for the hydro ram. Hopin to get a bunch done this week.

Well, Dwayne reminded me last night that it didn't happen unless pics are up so... this is as it sits now, small deal but i took the glass out of the rear doors (one less thing to break) and i think it opens the "cab" up alittle more. Guess i'll have to invest in a good rain coat.

I've also started mapping out the cage, my 220 should be hooked up shortly.

So I got my 220 hooked up in the garage this morning - so it's miller time!
I made and welded in some brackets (didn't get pics) that connect the bolts holding the fuel cell staps to the rear crossmember.
I finished the brackets for the hydro ram (welding with it all in the vehicle sucked) and layed down some paint.

Ram installed and lookin good...

Next, i started measuring to fab up a T-case skid until i realized that i could probably modify the WARN XJ skid that i have, it took some brain power but i realized that by luck if i rotated the skid 90* and alittle fabin it would work. Here i just welded on a tab for the front crossmember...

Then i just drilled and tapped both crossmembers utilizing 3 of the hole already in the skid and oula!...

I also started taping off and sanding for paint the rear area that was cut for some bedliner, minus the areas that i will be welding tabs to attach the cage and the body.

In the mean time and in between time I threw some bedliner at the "trimmed" area at the back...

I also set up how i will mount the bender in anticipation of bending tube, soon, very soon. :D

Dirk! How you doing? How is everything out your way? Ya, trimmed the back this past fall. I'll be finishing the back with some tube, no surprise but i have to go away for work for 6 weeks soon so i'm rushing to get as much done as i can before i go so she'll be ready for spring fever. I got a feelin that my easter weekend will be a smorgasborg of finishing her up. Are you gona be out this way for spring fever?

Things are well, working lots, missing wheeling, have lots of time to think of mods and new parts. Planing to be there for spring fever. Hopefully for a few days prior to finish/add a few things to my rig.

Well, got home from work and well... went to work so i didn't get pics (tomorrow). I did install the drive shafts so now it can move under it's own power! I also wasn't entirely happy with the front end geometry so I lowered the front end about 2" and adjusted the angles and now i'm very happy with it, some of the angles where a bit too steep (out on the trail will be the real test!). I did have to shorten my trackbar but that was no big deal.

Next is to finish mounting the rear shocks, have to put on the axle brackets for them and build an exhaust - then cage time!

thanks, amazing what alittle paint will do, then what alittle mud and dirt will do once it gets out on the trail! But al least it looked clean once.

So I started putting together a quick exhaust, got a bunch of misc. pieces...

with a lot of cutting and fitting, i was able to make a "custom" downpipe, this is after it has been fully welded and a coat of ceramic coating... I also heat wrapped it, I had to run it very close to the floor and tranny - space is at a premium under there!

you can see the flowmaster and cat in the background on this one, just put em together and ceramic coated them too...

installed - the back part does hang just below the frame rails, couldn't help that but not too worried about it. Plus i'm sure if they get in the way, they'll just self clearance...
