Nice fuel cell, shiny Aliminium. :)

Looks like you'll have your work cut ou for you. Gonna be sweet tho.
Front coil bucket furtherback. For more articulation?

I've moved the front axle forward about 2 inches which has the coil spring in a slightly S shape which is really noticable when the spring compresses so I want to move the axle buckets back to be right on top of the axle tube so that it lines up with the top spring bucket. i love the shiny aluminum too!

I'm actually thinking of installing limiting straps because right now I can really drop out the suspension maybe just a bit too much but those are measurments and decisions i'll be making when she goes back together.

Hmmm....nice signature change lol, does the furnace work well?

dj

lol, it does! although it is "noisy" but a little background noise is better than freezing. I will have to get a proper 7 pin trailer plug and electric brake controler installed most likely this spring. I'll get a picture of it later today and post up. Right now I'm limited as where i can safety it as not many places have the lift capacity and the one place that can is quite busy, i'm hoping to sneak it in by the end of the week.

Just a side track, here is the "other" tow rig and family fun wagon.

Quick update;

So i mentioned that i had some "rear end issues" from before i left last spring, well did i ever!

I have the jeep in smith falls right now and Dan is taking care of it for me - I just called him today and i guess that one of the carrier bearings totally disintegrated causing bearing shrapnel to work it's wonders to the interior on the axle housing and pretty much destroying the carrier and 3rd member. Long story short is that he has sourced another 3rd member for me and is putting it back together for me for pick up tomorrow which means she will be good to go for sunday! the ring and pinion had some minor surface scratches on the metal but all in all they look good (it is an off road only vehicle anyway) and can be reused.

The bright side is that the new 3rd member came with shafts so now I have 4 spare shafts (now i'm ready for next summer!)

So this week i'll be picking up steel and carrying on with the tear down. Tomorrow I hope to have the rest of the suspension out, steering out, relocate my OBA, relocate bottom coil buckets on axle and think about ripping out all the AC stuff and start cleaning up the frame. And if i have time tomorrow - drop the fuel tank and start installing the fuel cell.

I'll also be removing hatch and glass in prep for the chop.

So i've been workin my rear off on this thing the last couple of days (didn't get any pics but will post tomorrow). I've gotten the fuel cell 90% installed, the frame rails all cleaned up and ready for reinforcing (actually i've finished plating the frame at the very front. I've also ripped out all the crap stock steering.

well, another semi-productive day. Amazing how much dirt is still falling out of the frame! I finished up the steering box stiffeners (both sides) and started plumbing in the new steering.

also got the new front spring hangars in - what a pain in the arse getting the old ones out.

and got the fuel cell bolted down - electronics and return are hooked up, i just need to plumb up the feed line next.

LOL!!!!

Looking great Marek. Can't wait to see you hack it up though.

Ya, me too i'm really looking forward to that!). So many other things are getting done first though. I'll post pics up later but yesterday I cut down and grinded the rear bumper (it's going to be welded inplace of the stock rear sheetmetal crossmember), relocated the front coil buckets on the axle, cut and fit the main frame stiffeners, pulled the 231 and assembled the atlas and cut off the crappy bushing end on my track bar and welded in a rod end. Today i hope to (hope being the key word) finish plumbing in the fuel cell, tear out the AC and if i'm lucky finish plumbing the steering (tranny and steering cooler install too).
