Hey Matt, there is a toy warehouse sale going on at Lansdown Park this weekend!! If you are going to come over friday maybe we could go and hit them up for donations, or maybe they would let us put a few boxs there. We would maybe have to sit with them though not sure. Does anyone know about this sale"" It is a BIG clearout sale for many companies. anyway if nothing else we should try to go talk to them in person friday. I will try to find out more about it....Laura..

LOL! you read my mind. I was just about to post it up. I think it is basically a clearance of toys. So if anyone want to get some great name brand toys super cheap head over to Lansdown Park Nov 7 - 16.
http://www.samkosales.com/ The cheaper you get the toys, the more you can buy!!!!

Tim Says " Ptafies ( Peter Ptafie) or Carier Supply . Both are Industrial" . I think we decided that if they wouldn't donate, the club would cough up 100.00 towards the boxs.

Thats great. Thanks Tim and John and the club.

Ah ha!! Problem solved!!! Use a different computer :D

Here is the updated flyer. For some reason the OVO symbol is now fuzzy when it got transfered over to a pdf file and me having no computer skills am unable to fix it. I don't know if someone is able to fix this?

Thanks Charlene, Look great.

That's great. We can work on the logo later, it's probably because a JPG was used. Was this done in Acrobat, or another program? I'd like to know what program was used and a copy of the source file for use in later years, we have a tendency to loose these and always have to start all over.

Also, do you really expect us to stay at Lincoln Heights till 2PM? I thought we said something like 12:00.

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet but the "an" in Drop off an new unwrapped toy today" should be "a" .
And "the" before annual next the Salvation Army shield should be capitalized.

Something else to think about is the 'parade'. In previous years we just followed each other to the depot but the public couldn't tell what we were doing. We need to have some OVO.CA decals on trucks, especially the lead and tail trucks, and maybe some 'Toys for Tots' banners too.

Looks like I'll be driving the pickup (can't see the Jeep being fixed by then, stupid bolt :banghead:), so I'll have lots of window space on the cap. I'll finally put my OVO.CA sticker on the back window too.

LOL!!! ok. So i will try to fix everything.

I agree about the decals. Do we have any OVO banners? If so, how many. We are trying to get someone to donate some signs and or banners also.

Matt,

I have a question from BMO Nesbitt Burns regarding a donation box. Will we be able to provide tax receipts?

I would assume that some of these people are willing to donate good chunks of money lol

Cheers,

Matt you should call the toys for tots office. they may be willing to give us some tax reciepts from they're orginization for large donations then we don't have to go through all the red tape for this year. That is something however, OVO should look into having though for ALL your events. Everyone likes a write off!!

I have been offered monitary donations from a few BIG places..so it would be good to know if they ask for one!! One is a radio station so they might need something..also, so everyone knows what is going on with the press....I have been told and totally agree, that we should wait until the week after Nov.11th to start contacting them again. So you all have a week to voice your oppinions and work out any kinks!! Thanks Laura..

I may be wrong, but any time I have gotten a charity donation tax reciept it was for over 100.00. It's worth asking about.

:smokin:

I've gotten tax receipts for 25 dollar donations, not that they have done any good, but still

Hey,

I found out you can obtain a tax receipt for anything $20 and above. As for who to ask, also look at contacting The Salvation Army seeing as that is who we are going through.

Cheers,
