Compensate with a slightly longer shackle?

would need a .5" longer shackle to compensate just for the spare. But the rear already sits lower that the front without cargo or future equipment (compressor & tank, Hi-Lift, etc..).
I was thinking of purchasing the 4" or 5" rear springs instead. Maybe if someone building a Toy project I could swap springs. :)

I've been trying to reach both Danny and Pierre for a while, hasn't responded to emails in several weeks. Anyone spoken to them recently?

Called PJF yesterday, and as usual got great service.

Spent sometime grooving an XML......

Weigh in before, 115#

About 5/16" tread (a Loonie is exactly 1", btw)

Now about 5/8":

I'll save you having to do the math...I took about 5/16" out. I had heard that you can take 1/2", but at 5/16" you're almost exposing the cords.

Once I deepened the grooves and too a bunch of the shoulder (should help them flex) it was time for the fun parts.... grooving the lugs.

3 patterns I thought of. Was gonna post and see what everyone thought but got too impatient and started cutting. I did consult my brother inlaw, who liked the middle pattern better. But after a vote I won. :flipoff:

the result:

As soon as I can sneak the bathroom scale to the shop I'll know how much rubber it shed.

Still have to sipe them and then there's 4 more to do... gonna take alot of

Looks good, I'm really curious to see if those things soften up, or flex any better after what you've done. I'm guessing your gonna run them in the snow?

You might try calling 1-877-424-0330 and ask for Pierre.

Answering technical issues by e-mail can be long and daunting task that can be quickly resolved in a few minutes on the phone....

As soon as I get 4 of these done I will try them in the snow. I think that they wouldn't flex as well as the XL's, as they are larger and have probably hardened over their lifetime. But with the rubber removed from between the tread blocks I hope these will flex quite well.

I enlisted my wifes help....

Final result after siping

and a closeup

As an added bonus ...lost 10lbs

down to 105# from 115#

If only I can do the other 4 in my basement....but there may be some complaints about the smell.:D

Parts fairy showed up today...

Nothing hardcore, 2" wheel spacers cause the stock Toy 16" wheels have such crazy offset.
set of bump stops, Hi-Lift handle keepers, twin stick shift boot for my winch hydraulics and some Staun 0-15 psi deflators.

Why do I have a feeling that there will be yet another set of tires on there by Spring Fever?
I don't even change my oil this often. :D

Oh, looks way better than the dinky 33s :smokin:
